Lith was a character I created during my long hiatus when I stopped making webcomics.  In between redesigning Rosa and the other elves, I also drew a spikey haired grey guy.  He eventually became part of a different story I created around the idea of grey skinned nobles with Silvia and Jane. The greyfolk had matriarchal monarchy of which the male nobles try to overthrow.  Silvia escaped an assassination attempt with Jane and met Lith who was working as a hired blade but was secretly a duke in self-exile after killing the rebels who assassinated his mother.

These story bits were never really written down.  I mostly came up with them when I had trouble falling asleep or was bored.

When I started this webcomic, I needed more characters to fill up Rosemary and Thyme’s Legacy class, and so Lith was among the first to fill up those slots.  They didn’t have any proper names before this comic came up.
